Vasily Petrenko is a Russian conductor. Since 2006 he has been principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. I received a commission to photograph Vasily at the Liverpool Studio. Petrenko has worked with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, he has made frequent appearances at the BBC Proms and it was wonderful to meet Vasily, he has a towering presence, i'm a big fan of his work and the Liverpool Philharmonic.
