Last week at my DTLA studio, I had the privilege of photographing Oli Lee Andersson, an artist, filmmaker, writer, and educator whose work bridges identity, community, and belonging. As a trans and queer diasporic Korean person, Oli's artistry draws from their rich heritage and personal experiences, using film, photography, writing, and art to explore profound themes. Through our portrait session, I aimed to capture the essence of Oli's visionary approach, resulting in images that reflect their unique perspective, resilience, and deep connection to their roots.
