Rory Lewis capturing the press photography for the Saturday Independent News Paper Interview. Starring in ‘The Dry’ a daffy eight-part tragicomedy previously on Britbox, now coming to ITVX. The old man is played, with all his baffled hangdog charm, by Ciarán Hinds, who is 70. The woman behind the bins with him – and here’s the complicated surprise – is played by none other than Hinds’s French-Vietnamese wife, Hélène Patarot.
On the 23rd May 2018, the second Regimental Portrait Sittings of my Soldati della Repubblica series took place with the 1º Reggimento "Granatieri di Sardegna" at the historic Forte di Pietralata in Rome.
Ciarán Hinds was very kind to accept my invitation to sit for portraits on four occasions. In my latest Youtube Video I examine the artists who inspired the photoshoots and the lighting used to capture them.
Tobias Menzies is a stage, television and film actor. He is best known for his role as Brutus in HBO's Rome, Edmure Tully in HBO's Game of Thrones, and the dual roles of Frank and Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall in STARZ's Outlander, which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination.
Actor James Purefoy is a remarkable stage and screen presence. From jousting Heath Ledger in 2001’s pulpy A Knight’s Tale to manipulating a cult of serial killers in Fox’s The Following, James has appeared in a wider range of film, television and theatre productions than the lion’s share of his contemporaries.
I was delighted to teach a Portrait Masterclass at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The third time the gallery has invited me to work with them, and it is a real treat to use the Collection as inspiration. I had the pleasure of working with 12 delegates. No stranger to the gallery I’m always popping my head through the door, to gorge upon the feast of art and intrigue. Over the years seven of my portraits have been acquired by the Gallery.
